Replacing an old worn out shower

It was looking pretty tired, outdated and near impossible to make it look clean.

Mold! We had to replace the drywall and put in the mold resistant green board. The floor was a bit off level which was repaired with self leveling compound (formed to fit the new shower base).

...and remove the old plumbing. The new faucet had PEX fittings. The old one was a a combination of pressure and sweat fittings, so they had to be cut out and new fittings installed before the faucet could be attached and secured to a new cross member. The particle board was "special" but it was part of the utility room so the client kept it.

Here's a shot before the final wall repairs, shelves and the new floor was installed over the tile. It was a much more inviting shower in the end. I'll have to get a picture now that the floor is in.

Take a look at this sparkling clean fan

Can you believe it used to look like this. This Is one of the many things I get to restore being a handyman.

I also get to see the wonderful things people put behind their walls when doing renovations.

It can be quite an adventure rebuilding and restoring peoples spaces.
